Remembering Mark

I was a roommate of Marks, briefly, at UT Austin. The Castilian is the dorm. I had borrowed a few dollars, reason not remembered. I traveled to SA that weekend. When I returned I learned he had drowned. I didn't know him well. I am class of '70 graduate. I went looking for an obituary and only found this memorial site for AHHS class of '71. - Don Mayfield, Class of '70

I absolutely adored Mark Hamilton in the third or fourth grade. I had started to attend Woodridge Elementary in the second grade and didn't have many, or any, friends there. Mark came over to my house once and taught me how to climb a tree in our front yard--it seemed quite daring at the time. I named that tree after him, because it meant so much to me that he had come to play with me. He was kind to me, as I'm sure he was to many others.
